Biography of Morey Sullivan

Raised in the entertainment business, Morey Sullivan started as a music/concert promoter. After graduating college with a degree in music and business he took a position as a drive-time radio talk show host. He went on to be Program Director and Operations Manager of that station. Later he was general manager of a broadcasting group with several radio stations. At the same time he headed a group to build a live performance theatre with restaurants and retail shopping.
Sullivan worked as Executive Director of two major performing arts centers. He produced and/or promoted shows with entertainers including; Jay Leno, Barry Manilow, John Denver, Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, the Smothers Brothers, Wynton Marsalis, Diana Krall, Rita Rudner, Dave Brubeck and BB King. Also presenting Broadway shows that included; Cats, Miss Saigon, Rent, Les Miserables and Guys and Dolls.
One of his professional highlights was producing and directing a State-Sponsored tour of Russia. The troupe of 55 (performers and crew) performed in 17 Russian cities, in and around St. Petersburg. he production consisted of American music and art forms including; Native-American dancers/music, jazz, country, gospel, cowboy music, Broadway and movie music. He also chose and then produced a show with Russian performers, doing authentic Russian music and dance that toured the central part of the U.S.
In 1992 Sullivan, along with his friend, NBC daytime drama personality, James Reynolds started Free State Productions, producing filmed documentaries and feature films. In 2006 they found the script, Ancestor, written by Tom Cook. United Producers Entertainment bought the rights and is now developing the work and will shoot in 2009.
Along with entertainment management, Sullivan operates/manages an information technology company with annual budget of $41 million and 185 employees. The entity operates on mainframe, midrange and PC/server platforms. The group also provides telecommunications/network services as well.
Sullivan holds music and business degrees from Central Missouri University.
