ANCESTOR, the movie is based on real-life events from just a few years ago. The story is taken from the “finding” of Kennewick Man, a major scientific discovery concerning a human skeleton that was over 9,000 years old. The drama written around this true-life finding is the brain-child of Academy Award Nominated Writer, Tom Cook. Tom has woven the events of this important discovery with conflict within a family and a community. It is a story of deep human emotion and time-honored traditions. A complete synopsis is included in this website. ANCESTOR will be filmed in Kansas. The Producers want to use the Kansas landscape to unfold the story of ANCESTOR. The Flint Hills will be utilized as well as other locations in Kansas. ANCESTOR LLC has been formed in Kansas with the sole purpose of making this motion picture. ANCESTOR, LLC has acquired the exclusive film rights to the literary property ANCESTOR is based on. ANCESTOR, LLC will utilize United Producers Entertainment, Inc. (UPE), an independent production company, as the manager of the LLC. UPE is a Kansas Corporation registered with the Kansas Secretary of State. UPE is owned and operated by Kansans Morey Sullivan and Eric Hayashi. Biographies of both are included in this packet. In addition, ANCESTOR employs a ‘team’ approach to complete this exciting project. In addition to writing the script, Tom Cook brings his many years knowledge of the film business to the project as Co-Producer. Famed actor Wes Studi also brings his experience to the production team as a Co-Producer as well. The respected Director Chris Eyre’s vision will bring ANCESTOR to the screen. |
